The City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Information Day attracted more than 35,000 prospective students and their parents on 20 October.
This year the activities were organised under the theme Discover & Innovate@CityU. Visitors got the chance to tour campus and residence halls, meet faculty and staff, learn about CityU’s academic programmes, and find out about student life on campus.

Throughout the day, guests were offered a wide choice of information sessions about programmes that they were interested in applying for in the colleges and schools.

More than 400 CityU faculty and staff and 900 student helpers participated in the Information Day.

One of the most popular attractions was a special exhibition for CityU’s Gateway Education courses where students’ innovative projects were displayed. Visitors were able to have a taste of CityU’s discovery-oriented, interdisciplinary professional education through the many interesting and interactive demonstrations on subjects such as robot technology and the scientific concepts of kung fu.

Dr Emily Cheng Kwong Kit-ching, Director of the Admissions Office, said the event was well received by local secondary students, parents and the general public. “It was a good opportunity to get an overview of CityU, both inside and outside the classroom,” she said.

Useful event booklets were available to visitors to facilitate their participation in various talks, briefing sessions and guided tours. Unused and returned booklets were recycled in accordance with the University’s sustainability practices.
