A joyful occasion for hall students

A joyful occasion uniting students from different regions and countries was held at the Student Residence of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 26 February. Around 650 overseas, mainland and Hong Kong students plus residence masters, staff and alumni attended the Joint Hall Dinner organised by the Residents’ Associations and the Student Residence Office. The aim of the dinner, which had the theme “Living in the City”, was to provide an opportunity for residents from different halls to dine together, share their cultures and develop a sense of unity.

Among the attendees were Professor Horace Ip Ho-sing, Vice-President (Student Affairs); Dr Raymond Chan Kwok-hong, Dean of Students; and Ms Rebecca Chan Po-yu, Director of the Student Residence Office.

The programme for the evening included band performances, hall games and a talent show for which each hall sent representatives. One of the highlights was the hugely enjoyable raffle, especially for the lucky ones who won prizes!
