An exciting two-day conference at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) explored how computer technology can assist educators teaching the theory and practice of translation.

Around 110 local and international translation educators and practitioners, language experts, language programme designers, software developers, publishers, and translation and education service providers attended the International Conference on Translation Education organised by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) from 16 to 17 August 2014.

Participants were drawn from Austria, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan and the UK, ensuring that the event brought together a rich mix of expertise and knowledge.

In addition to a range of parallel sessions, the conference included a special hands-on workshop on computer-aided online teaching for translating English and Chinese.
