Classroom Y5-305 in Academic 1 at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has been named “Mr and Mrs Danny Yung Classroom” in appreciation of the support and generous donations given by Mr and Mrs Danny Yung to CityU.

Mr and Mrs Yung and their relatives and friends joined with Professor Matthew Lee Kwok-on, Vice-President (Development and External Relations), and Ms Kathy Chan Yin-ling, Associate Vice-President (Development and Alumni Relations), at the naming ceremony on 28 May.

After they had taken photos at the Mr and Mrs Danny Yung Classroom, they enjoyed a lunch hosted by Professor Lee.

Professor Lee expressed his gratitude to Mr and Mrs Yung for their generous donation, adding that the support of social and business leaders could help nurture more talent for society.

He also thanked Mr Winfred Chan Hon-pun, Member of the Board of Governors of CityU Foundation, for his assistance in making this donation successful.

Enthusiastic in community work, Mr Yung has built up a successful business on his own. As a Past President of the Rotary Club of Shatin, he not only actively participates in the charity work organised by the Club, but also generously donates to education institutions in the mainland to help students in need.

The donation from Mr and Mrs Yung will be used to support the “Rotary.CityU Nurturing Future Generations” scheme for setting up bursaries to help students with financial needs.
