Professor Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), was invited to be the plenary speaker at the 2018 Molecular Imaging Instrumentation Conference held from 15 to 17 April.

In the speech, titled “Data Analysis and Accountability”, Professor Kuo illustrated the difference between the general perception and factual data on aspects such as health and pollution, and concluded that data analysis was challenging because we had to consider the critical parts of all the data in order to initiate reasonable findings.

Faculty members from the College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences and College of Science and Engineering held a special mini-workshop on “Molecular Imaging and One Health” during the conference. Professor Michael Yang Mengsu, Head and Chair Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, co-chaired the workshop.

The conference was organised by the Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Chicago (UChicago), and the UChicago Centre in Hong Kong, and co-organised by CityU, the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of CAS, and the University of Hong Kong.
