Virtual robots deployed their military strategies in a computer game programming competition held on 24 November at the Computer Science Laboratory at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
A record-breaking 600 local secondary school students took part in the Third CityU-CS Robocode Contest. The players had to write a Java programme telling their virtual robots how to react to events occurring in battle. The winning team this year was from Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School.
The contest, organised by the Department of Computer Science (CS), promotes computer programming in secondary schools.
