Eminent industrialists share wisdom at CityU forum

Eminent local industrialists shared their success stories and how they unlock the unlimited potential of local industry during a forum organised by the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 16 November.

The forum, titled “The unlimited potentials of local industry”, was facilitated by Professor Cliff Sun Kai-lit, Member of the Board of Governors of the CityU Foundation, Adjunct Professor of CSE, and Chairman of Kinox Enterprises Limited.

The five panel speakers were Dr Sunny Chai Ngai-chiu, Managing Director, Fook Tin Group Holdings Ltd and alumnus of CityU; The Hon Felix Chung Kwok-pan, Legislative Council Member; Mr Kwok Chun-wah, Managing Director, Rambo Chemicals (HK) Ltd; Mr Bernie Ting Wai-cheung, Director & General Manager, Qualidux Industrial Co. Ltd; and Dr Daniel Yip Chung-yin, Managing Director, G.E.W. International Corporation Ltd.

In his welcoming address, Professor Yan Hong, Dean of CSE, said, “With the country’s long-term strategies for the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area, there is undoubtedly unlimited potential for local industry. Hong Kong is capable of fulfilling its role as a ‘super-connector’ and making valuable contributions towards the country and the city’s sustainable development.”

In his concluding remarks, Professor Paul Lam Kwan-sing, Chief-of-Staff (Vice-President), said Hong Kong industry would surely have a bright future and students should equip themselves well with knowledge and strive for any chance of getting an internship in order to grasp opportunities.

Around 200 people participated in the event.
