Russian ministers attend public management programme at CityU
More than 60 state-level Russian ministers and senior government officials are taking part this week in a programme jointly organised by the College of Business (CB) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and by the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
The four-day programme, titled “Internship at City University of Hong Kong - Program for the Executive Masters in Public Management”, covers a rich range of topics of interests on economies, governance, Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), social media, among others. CB faculty are hosting the seminars.
Participants include Mr Alexey Teksler, First Deputy Minister of Energy, Russian Federation; Mr Eugeny Ditrikh, First Deputy Minister of Transport, Russian Federation; Mr Sergey Obryvalin, Deputy Minister of Culture, Russian Federation; Mr Ilya Trunin, Deputy Minister of Finance, Russian Federation; Mr Andrey Chibis, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing Utilities, Russian Federation; Ms Anastasia Bondarenko, Deputy Minister of Energy, Russian Federation; among others.
Professor Way Kuo, CityU President, welcomed RANEPA members and introduced the strength of CityU.
“CityU is deeply honoured to receive the high-level ministers and officials from Russia. CityU’s School of Business is ranked second in Asia in terms of research and our faculty is one of the best in Asia. I am confident we will learn a lot from each other,” he said.
Professor Alexey Komissarov, Vice-Rector of RANEPA, thanked CityU for the arrangements. “This is a truly unique programme, which will contribute to enhancing our knowledge of international affairs,” he said.
The event marks the sixth time that CB and RANEPA have co-organised programmes together since a long-term strategic partnership was established between the two parties in 2012.
In addition, CityU has arranged for two corporate visits and on-site seminars at Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption during the visitors’ 4-day stay.
