A launching ceremony for Advancing with the Times: Implementation of the One Country, Two Systems Policy and Basic Law in Hong Kong by Professor Rao Geping from the Law School of Peking University and published by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Press was held on 14 June.

The ceremony was officiated by Mr Liu Chun-hua, Director-General of the Legal Affairs Department at the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, and Ms Elsie Leung Oi-sie, former Deputy Director of the HKSAR Basic Law Committee.

Other guests included Mr Sunny Lee Wai-kwong, Vice-President (Administration) of CityU; Professor Zhu Guo-bin, Director of CityU Press and Professor of the School of Law; Ms Tam Wai-chu, Deputy Director of the HKSAR Basic Law Committee; Professor Lau Siu-kai, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Association of Hong Kong and Macao Studies; Mr Jasper Tsang Yok-sing, former President of the Legislative Council; and Professor Albert Chen Hung-yee, Professor of the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong.

The book is a collection of academic papers, speeches and commentaries written by Professor Rao between 1989 and 2018 on the One Country, Two Systems Policy and Basic Law.
