About 100 of Ms Guan Xiaoyun's traditional Chinese paper cut artworks, including the first ever showing of her masterpiece titled "Revisit of the Qinhuai River in Nanjing" - a 15 x 3 metres long artwork which took six years to complete --are on display at the CityU Gallery from 16 January to 28 February.
CityU has signed a student exchange agreement with Canada's renowned University of Western Ontario.
Two students have showed that CityU has what it takes to succeed in the international arena, performing brilliantly in advanced coursework on an exchange programme at the University of Houston in the US.
In an agreement aimed at promoting academic exchange and research activities, CityU's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHS), signed a memorandum of co-operation with the School of International Studies (SIS), Peking University, on 2 May. The agreement comprises terms on exchange of academics and research personnel, sharing of joint research results, and the financial responsibility involved. The memorandum will be valid for three years.
In an effort to strengthen its academic ties with universities and research institutes, City University of Hong Kong President, Professor H K Chang, is leading a CityU delegation to the mainland. The visit runs from 23 to 28 April.
A new addition to the list of publications from City University Press—Analysis of Public Policies of China 2001—was launched at CityU on 12 January.
