City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has maintained its position as the 15th top university in Asia in the 2011 Asian University Rankings published by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) in May 2011.

Professor Way Kuo, University President, said it was a highly significant achievement given the general rise in the mean scores for the top 50 Asian universities. “It is also testament to the hard work and sustained efforts by the CityU community over the past few years,” he added.

According to the list of particular subjects ranked in the previous QS survey, CityU has four subjects ranked within the top 200 in the world.

Metallurgy and Materials plus Mathematics have both broken into the top 100, Physics and Astronomy are ranked among the top 150 while Psychology is in the top 200.
