Seven interactive media artworks by graduates of the School of Creative Media (SCM) from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) are featured at the CINEMA 2.0 – New Playable Art: Media Art Exhibition and The 19th ifva Awards – Interactive Media Category Finalist Exhibition. The exhibitions run from 13 to 30 March at the Pao Galleries, Hong Kong Art Centre.

The Media Art Exhibition, organised by guest curator Dr Olli Tapio Leino, Assistant Professor of SCM, showcases contemporary works combining interactive art, expanded cinema, and computer games created by digital natives raised in the world of computer games. In the Interactive Media Category Finalist Exhibition, the ten finalist works in the interactive media category of the 19th ifva awards are being shown.

On 14 March, Dr Leino hosted the New Playable Art panel discussion at CityU on the question of whether computer games were art and what new playable art could be.
