Elderly students graduate from CityU
Eighty-five happy students from the Elder Academy of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) successfully completed their first semester courses and received certificates at a ceremony held on 16 December. Twice as many students participated in the programme this semester compared to last year’s first cohort. Of those to have taken part, 24 students have completed all three courses held in consecutive semesters. Their dedicated attitude encapsulates the philosophy of lifelong learning promoted by CityU.
The ElderAcademy was established in cooperation with the Elderly Commission and the Labour and Welfare Bureau in September 2008. Students aged between 60 and 77 this semester studied with CityU undergraduates in courses such as Chinese civilisation, astronomy, management, movies and psychology, creative and problem-solving skills and Putonghua.
