Mr Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), together with Professor Lee Chun Sing, Provost and Deputy President of CityU, presided over a flag-raising ceremony at Wong Cheung Lo Hui Yuet Hall on 1 July to celebrate the 26th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong SAR.

The Ceremony was attended by over 200 members of the University community, including Mr Charles Chin Ying-on, Treasurer of the Council, and several Council members, namely, Mr David Ho Chi-hoo, Dr Raymond Leung Siu-hong, Mr Robert Lui Chi-wang, Ms Rita Pang Yat-sum, Mr Joseph Tse Lap-bun, Mr Justin Wong Tak-ho, Mr William Khoo Wun-fat, and Mr Alan Poon Pak-lun, together with management, staff and student representatives. The national, regional and University flags were raised. CityU students trained as Guards of Honour marched onto the stage and performed a series of choreographed movements.
