More than 250 Alumni Ambassadors participated in the Alumni Ambassadors’ Night cum inauguration ceremony organised by the Alumni Relations Office at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 17 June.

In her address, Ms Kathy Chan Yin-ling, Associate Vice-President (Alumni Relations), warmly welcomed new members to join as Class Liaison Ambassadors 2011. She said under the theme “caring by serving”, CityU alumni shared a message of love and hope to people at CityU and the rest of the world. She hoped the theme would be like a dandelion: widespread to every corner of the world and deep rooted in people’s hearts.

Ms Shelly Lee Lai-kuen, Former Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, shared her experiences of voluntary work and serving. Mr Andrew Fan Ka-fai, a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient at the University and CityU’s Alumni Ambassador of Greater China, and Ms Karmen Chan Ka-man, Convocation Chairman, also talked about what it is like to be an alumni ambassador.

The Alumni Ambassador Scheme has been a conduit for alumni to support the development of the University through voluntary service since 2003.
