The Centre for System Informatics Engineering (CSIE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has received a generous donation of 20 sets of LabVIEW Core Development software package and its associating toolkits from National Instruments Corporation (National Instruments). The donated software, with a total value of HK$2.3 million, has been installed in the CSIE laboratory and will be widely used by the students of the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management for academic and research purposes.
An appreciation ceremony on 7 September expressed the gratitude of CityU and CSIE for the generous donation. Professor Gregory Raupp, CityU Vice-President (Research and Technology), Professor Lu Jian, Dean of College of Science and Engineering, and Professor Tsui Kwok-leung, Director of CSIE, were present to thank the donor.
In his address, Professor Raupp said this donation was far more than a gift. It was actually the start of a wonderful partnership with National Instruments. Mr Andy Luk Tat-ho, Regional Manager – Southern China of National Instruments, told the audience why National Instruments had made the donation, “CityU is a leading university in Asia. Its mission and vision perfectly align with that of National Instruments.”
