Cross-cultural mega-competition unites local and non-local students
Around 350 local and international students joined a mega-competition called Resonance at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 12 February.
Resonance was organised by a group of CityU local and international students aiming to promote exchanges between local and international communities. This project was backed by the Office of the Provost and the Mainland and External Affairs Office (MEAO). The University Grants Committee supported this creative initiative with $80,000 in funding.
Professor Arthur Ellis, CityU Provost; Dr Raymond Chan Kwok-hong, Dean of Students; and Yusuf Rafique, Head of Resonance, gave speeches at the opening ceremony at Wei Hing Theatre on the same day. Other guests-of-honour included Dr Wong Chi-tim, Director of Student Development Services; Professor Yan Hong, Acting Dean of the College of Science and Engineering; and Ms Helen Lam, Manager (International & Non-local Students) of MEAO.
