Inspiring activities aimed at nurturing young entrepreneurs are being held at Entrepreneur Week (E-week) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).

Students will learn about the power of persuasion at the “Pitching Skills Workshop” and exchanged ideas with experts, entrepreneurs and academics via the “Mainland-Taiwan-Hong Kong Symposium”, “2016 CityU Intellectual Property Conference for Students”, and “Tea Gathering of Innopreneurs’ Friday”.

The opening ceremony on 17 May was attended by Mr Stephen Liang, Director of Product Promotion, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Professor Cheng Shuk Han, Director of the Office of Education Development and Gateway Education (EDGE), Dr Yue Wei-thoo, Associate Head of the Department of Information Systems, Dr Ron Kwok Chi-wai, Associate Professor of the same department, and Ms Tania Lau Yuen-kei, Deputy Major Leader of the Global Business Systems Management programme (GBSM) of the College of Business.

Outstanding GBSM students who have successfully filed patents for their business innovations were presented with awards at the ceremony, which runs through 27 May. Their work was displayed at an exhibition during the event.

The aim of E-week, which was led in tandem with the HKTDC Entrepreneur Day and organised by Innovation Commons and other partners, was to invigorate the entrepreneurship spirit at the University.
